Learning to Knit

This week has been full steam ahead with our genius hour projects!

Alisi and Tulei learnt how to knit! These amazing girls have decided to learn how to knit so they can make warm blankets for people who need them. We needed to call in some experts to show us how. A BIG thanks to Samuels Mum and his Oma for coming in to teach the girls. We can't wait to see the final product!  This project is going to take lot's pf patience and perseverance from the girls.  The cool thing is, they are now going to pass on their skills by teaching two others! Maybe they could even teach me!

Try not to drop a stitch girls!

  8. Kia Ora Alisi and Tulei. I really like that you started knitting because it's such a cool idea. I don't know how to knit but I would like to learn. Did you find this easy or difficult and why did you choose to start knitting? From Ayesha

My name is Reagan and I am from Mamaku 2. I think it is really cool that you have learnt how to knit. I knit at home and I think it is really fun but not everyone can learn to knit because they don't have a teacher to teach them how to do it. Why did you want to learn how to knit? From Reagan

  11. Bonjour. Callum from Grey Main School here. It is a really good idea of knitting for the people who need it. How long have you been doing this for and can you check your spelling mistakes. This reminded me about my trip to England.

  13. Hi my name is Kash I like your knitting. It is cool how you are knitting blankets for people. I am not that good at knitting myself. Do you knit other things
as well? You should do pillows too because they are cool. My nana can knit and she has made loads of clothes for my baby sister.
