We love our Duffy Books. In Term 3 we were luck enough to be gifted another 2 books to add to our collection.
We love to share and celebrate the digital learning in our Year 5 and 6 class!

Valuing Our Learning in Room 15
Our PB4L focus for the first two week is valuing our learning.
We can do this in many ways and each of us have written a personal statement about what we need to achieve this goal. Check out our responses on the PADLET below.

Room 15's Role Models!
Room 15 have been looking at what makes a good ROLE MODEL. We think that people who do the following make good role models...
- Inspire us to try new things
- Be the best we can
- Do the right thing at the right time
- Follow their dreams
- Do good things for other people and not just for their own interests
We talked about how role models can come in different forms. They can be people who are close to you such as family and friends. They can also be people that you admire but have not personally met, like celebrities. Role models can also show up in many different areas of your life from school, to home, to other activities such as church, sports, after school activities...
This padlet shows some of our thoughts! It is an amazing read and I loved seeing who was named as being a role model within our class and school! Is your name there? - you can also comment below and let us know who your role model is! (we love comments!)

Rights of a Child
Room 15 have just started to look at the Rights of a Child. They were asked to come up with things that they think each and every child in the world is entitled to... this is what we can up with using padlet.
Feel free to comment below and say something that you think should be included in the list of Children's Human Rights.

Week 2 Update -
- Miss B is getting used to the ways of May Road School. She thinks that Room 15 are pretty amazing although slightly chatty at time.
- We are meant to be having Wheels Day today but unfortunately it is pouring with rain. We might have a think about organising a Kauri Team wheels day later in the term so that we can all try out the new track on the field.
- In maths we have been learning about how subtraction is the inverse of addition. We are practising using our talk moves and only asking questions if we need to. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will start posting some of our maths working for you all to see our strategies.
- Writing has been focused on War and ANZACS. We read a cool poem called '10 things in a Wizards Pocket' and then created our own poem based on what would be in a soldier or nurse's pocket. Check them out on our individual blogs and feel free to give use feedback.
- In reading we have been reading stories about different aspects of war and then retelling the story in our own words. We have also been learning how to use Google Draw to create diagrams or drawings. This is a really hard skill because there is no paint tool and you have to layer shapes to create your illustration - we will get better at this throughout the year.
- Students add a comment below saying one thing that you enjoyed about your learning this week. Check back for more weekly updates from Room 15.

The Peace Child
Ok, so we have been a little quiet lately! That's because we are working hard on our school production! YIKES! With only 2 weeks to go, we have some serious rehearsing to do, lines to learn, songs to sing and plenty of fun to be had!
This morning we had a photo shoot with the main characters. It was lot's of fun to finally get into our costumes and really get into character. I think they scrub up pretty well!
Have you ever acted in a play? Have you got any tips for us? We would love to hear them!

Toolkit Prep is Underway!
With only 4 more sleeps until our student lead toolkits it's time to get a move on!
WeVideo experts Tharindu and Sylvia are busily preparing their toolkit on how to use WeVideo.
What a great team!
Our 12 May Road reps are really looking forward to attending the day and learning lots of new digital tools! The best thing about the day ... it's run by kids for kids! How cool is that!
